Spain like most other countries in the world is in an economic recession.  That means opportunities to first time buyers and for  existing property owners who want to own more properties.  In exceptional cases there have been great bargains when the buyer happened upon a vendor who had to sell at all costs.  But generally speaking there is and will continue to be resistance to selling at bargain prices.  To be sure the market has corrected itself about 10-12% but it is accepted in the trade that when the banks start lending out money again to meet the demand of borrowers the prices will stabilize.
